For the very poor, dependent on wage labour or subsistence farming for their livelihoods, education is often the last priority. We help their children access learning opportunities and a better future. Families of students who join Learning Grain are given free monthly grain as well as free books and uniforms so they can continue to send their kids to the local government school without dipping into their meagre resources.

While school enrolments across India have improved, the quality of education across the board leaves much to be desired. Our centre, with its focus on remedial education, builds on what is being taught in school. It also helps the children enjoy learning skills that would open up new opportunities for them as well as acquire awareness of the larger world outside their immediate ambit

Our centre is an integral part of the community within which it works – and we believe that each child is a member of our larger family. We see it as our responsibility to motivate every child to be the best she can be and to support her in navigating a smoother path to a better life – through education, a career or otherwise
